The Housekeeper and the Professor- written by Yoko Ogawa- is one the the best books I have ever read. One of the best parts of this book is how it doesn't name characters; the best you’ll ever get is a nickname. This is great as instead of using a name to refer to a character, it uses a relation, like “my mother” or “the mother in law” to refer to the characters, emphasizing their relationship. Even the nickname “root” emphasizes the relation between the housekeeper's son and the math professor.
